Requiem for a God, who has it?

Well I'm certainly looking forward to seeing some more. I think it could fit VERY well inside my Scarred Land campaign stuff in some form or another.

I was contemplating how it would fit in a Scarred Lands campaign myself. SL doesn't have too much room to be killing any more deities. However, you can use the rules for deities that have already passed on, or (with some tweaking) use the rules for titans.

Managed to tear through it last night, and I loved it. Like the review above, many (but not all) of the items, spells, etc. were just natural consequences of the material before rather than "above and beyond" surprises. But that's fine, the stuff in there is solid, and I think very helpful. (Oh, and there's a couple minor glithces like the PrCls that gains spell casting levels, but has no spellcasting prereq, or the two almost identical sidebars on facing pages, but those are trivial.)

What I found the most useful part of the book though is as an idea generator. I found it impossible not to think up adventures, characters, even new feats and PrCls while reading this. There are so many great ideas in the book, as well as seeds that spawned ideas in me noggin that I was tempted to do exactly what the book suggests not to - start littering the world with dead gods. But I just wanted to use so much of the info in here.

For me at least, it succeeds at everything Monte set out to do with an Event Book. It can be used in any campaign, but the ideas are so rich (and so is the artwork by Sam Wood), that it could even be the basis for a campaign in and of itself.

The only thing I would ask for is more. More adventure ideas. More campaign ideas. More discussion of undead gods like stated above. More spelled out examples of the sites of fallen gods. And I'm not asking for more because the current book is lacking, but because it is so great that I couldn't get enough of it.

Hey,

I hope my players don't read this, but I'm planning on using it in my SL campaign as well. I'm currently in the middle of the Banewarrens adventure, which I based around the city of Burok Torn. The Can you guess which god will be destroyed?

Actually I was planning on using an already dead god/goddess. Though the Titan idea has some merit and certainly a Titanfleshed Golem has some REALLY interesting consequences... :)

Knowing you as I do Mike I'm guessing Nalthalos, cause Goran seems WAY too strong to die JUST yet. Course that might mean they'll REALLY need to get That Which Abides up and ready to save their race. :)

I bought this too

I haven't read it cover to cover yet, but on first glance it didn't sing to me as much as Monte's other Malhavoc releases, despite it being a fantastic idea for a book.

the whole Divine divine bloodline thing wasn't quite what I was expecting i'm sad to say.

Although as mentioned I haven't gone cover to cover with it yet, so I reserve the right to change my opinion after that time :)

I really like the idea of Event books though totally innovative.

I am interested, but I am not very attracted to ideas that are tied to the god's physical body on the prime. What fraction of the book is tied to that? The stuff I have read so far seems to indicate that there is a lot of that.
