Reserve Feat Question

Hey all,

Something I noticed with the reserve feats - they say they're supernatural abilities that take 1 standard action unless noted otherwise.

Does that mean if you take the Elemental Summoning reserve feat, you can call up an elemental as a standard action, rather than a full-round action? That makes it much more usable ...

Don't know the exact effect of Elemental Summoning, so can't really answer that.

But if you want a decent summoner, which can summon as a standard action, take a look HERE.

Yes, you can summon an elemental as a standard action, but the elemental you summon is much less powerful than the creature you could summon if you used the spell you must keep in reserve to power the feat.

So yeah, you can summon itty bitty elementals all day; they'll just only be moderately helpful.

Can someone tell me what a Reserved Feat is please? I must be missing that book. :)

I don't have it, but I looked at a player's copy last weekend.

A reserve feat is one where, if you have a given type of spell prepared, or an empty slot open, you are given a small supernatural ability in power proportionate to the level of the spell/slot.

For Example, one feat might say something like, "If you have an electricity-based spell/empty slot prepped, you can throw out a 20 ft. line of electricity at will as a standard action, supernatural ability, damage is 1d6 per spell level."

There appear to be some pretty nice ideas in that book. As I said before, I'm surprised no one's talking about the Transcend Mortality spell (the "pay attention, I can only do this once" spell...) :)

Frankly I think the coolest spell in that book (Complete Mage) has got to be Lightning Leap*... not the most powerful, but by God is it flavorful!

*Turn yourself into a line of lightning and move 10' to 60' damaging everyone in the path, and end your action at that new location.
