'Return to...' adventures

I also agree that the Return to modules are best when they are real returns to the hallowed halls of a previous adventure years later.

I especially enjoyed the 'Return to the DMGs example of play' adventure. :)

I would personally like to see "The Return to Castle Maure", set in Greyhawk. :)

(For those who don't recognize that, it's the site of WG5, "Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure.")

SPOILER:

After all, who can say anything bad about an adventure with a Pet Demon Lord in the Basement??
Kerzit the mighty,
Kerzit the Strong,
Kerzit!
Kerzit!!!
KERZIT!!!

I would like a Return to Saltmarsh, 15-20 years after the adventures in U1-3.
Maure Castle would also be good, and so would the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth.

Instead of Returning, how about going Beyond?

I would much rather go Beyond the Temple of Elemental Evil than simple Return to it.

Of course, on the one hand, that defies the point of converting old adventures. But it can also take us on into glorious future of D&D, while retaining the ties to the classical.

Heh! WG5 is one of my favorites. IIRC Rob Kuntz has been working on Maure Castle materials, and hopefully they'll see print someday :-)

I'm with you on this one SableWyvern: I've been expanding the Lost Caverns of Tsojconth for awhile, but I'm probably still only about 1/2 done.
