Renegade Game Studios announced pre-orders for Revelations of the Dark Mother, an updated reprint that doubles as an in-universe artifact for Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition. Similar to The Book of Nod, this book is written as a collection of sacred texts and rites covering the ancient lore of the World of Darkness setting. The Revelations of the Dark Mother is the holy book of the Bahari, a cult that worships Adam’s first wife Lilith as the Dark Mother who taught the first vampire Caine how to channel his curse into the vampiric powers known as Disciplines.

From the product description on the pre-order page:

Lilith. Mother of the Damned, the Dark Queen who will arise and usher in the end of the world. Feared by the Children of Caine and adored by her followers Bahari, the mere existence of Lilith gives the lie to the myth of Caine as the sole progenitor of all Kindred. Or so many choose to believe as they search for meaning in the night.

Explore the hidden legends of Lilith, discover stories guiding the Bahari of modern nights and discover a new vampire creation myth to challenge the legend of Caine!

Features
  • A Vampire: The Masquerade classic last printed over 20 years ago.
  • Presents sacred texts and rites of the Bahari, as featured in Cults of the Blood Gods.
  • The fictitious author Rachael Dolium’s original work is restored in this stunning hardcover printing with a ribbon bookmark.
The hardcover is available for pre-order for $40.00 with an expected November 2024 release. For a limited time, pre-orders will include a free PDF added to your account on release.

I remember when this first came out and it blew our minds to have a in-game prop of an actual book.

Of course my favorite of this kind is now Dracula Redacted.
Not quite the same thing, but in terms of a beautiful physical book/prop for a vampire game, the solo storytelling game book Thousand Year Old Vampire is a gorgeous physical artifact in addition its game value.

Edit: Holy crap, I just discovered Tim Denee's illustrated playthrough. Stunning.

Hasn't it be "cancelled" after that controversy about Chechnya? The "5Ed" has been licenced to other company, and the rest of tiles of WoD and CoD is practically "frozen". No news about Mage: the Ascension or Deviant: the Renegades.

The license changed hands since then. Paradox Interactive still owns it, but they shut down the White Wolf in-name-only imprint that created V5e and fired almost everybody involved after that incident. The license then went to Modiphius for a bit before Renegade Game Studios took it over. Other World of Darkness licenses have bounced around to other places, like Werewolf 5th Edition is from Hunters Entertainment (the company that makes Kids on Bikes) and published by Renegade. Meanwhile, Onyx Path still has a license to everything World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness so they're publishing stuff.

My impression of the whole thing is that Paradox just really wants Bloodlines 2 to happen and it needs a TTRPG to exist so they can make a game based off of it and they don't particularly care what happens with that TTRPG so long as they don't cause an international incident again.
