Review Announcements Annoying?

They are just trying to get information to people who might be interested. Not all the reviews they point are good, and it is helpful for people.

I dunno, I don't recall any company posting links to unfavorable reviews.

I do not believe that "self-congratulatory chest puffing" is the reason people (including us) put up info about reviews here, it is to inform and discuss a review and tell people about the publishers product.

So that "Two Thumbs Way Way Up" post was meant purely informational? Come on.

I know publishers come here to promote their products. That's cool, and getting info on products is why I read this forum. But to me, a review going up somewhere isn't worth starting a whole thread about.

Yes, I can (and do) ignore those threads and I will continue to do so. I just wondered if I was the only one who got irritated when those threads popped up (imagine if Green Ronin or Mongoose started a new thread everytime their products got reviewed!). Apparently, it is just me, so I'll deal.

No, that was me being excited about something that had just happened and sharing it with the community I am an active part of. Even though I am a publisher I am still human and like to share stuff with people. Still, it is not "chest puffing, " ego-Pumping" or any other thing of that nature that you may want to label us with.

By the way, we don't post or start a thread for every review, just the first one that appears for a newly released product.
Also, Hal and I are strong, very active community members. We post lots of other stuff that have nothing to do at all with reviews and often enough have nothing to do with our products.

As an active part of the community here we should be able to post anything we want within the rules of the boards, right?
