Revised Books: 320 Pages, $50 US? Um, Maybe $30...

From this month's In The Works Article: "Oh, here's something you'll want to think about: $5 a week.

If you can set aside just $5 a week for the next five months, you'll have the dough to snatch up the revised core rulebooks as soon as they're available. That's just under than 75¢ a day. So, get a jar. Toss all your pocket change in there, and when July rolls around, you'll be golden."

That works out to be about fifty green-backs for each book; do you think it'll be worth it?

That's 34 pages more for the PHB, 64 pages more for the DMG, and 96 pages more for the MM.

A 20 dollar increase for an average of 65 pages.

Maybe my math's faulty...

AFAIK, I've not heard any word that they're raising the price of the revised core rulebooks. So it'll be $30 each for now.

BUT, how much of it is just repeating what I already own? Is $50 or even $30 worth that extra 34, 64 or 96 pages?

I agree with Ranger REG. Nothing has been said that the price is going up. As far as I know, each book will still be $30.

Raven, no offense, but I think your math is faulty. $5 a week for five months right? $5 times 4 (weeks per month) times 5 (number of months). $5 x 4 x 5 = $100. Roughly just over the price of 3 $30 books, not even that much over when you take tax into account.

It's not totally precise, but then, its probably foolish to think the person writing that article meant that for the people reading it to take his prediction any more precise than I just did.

On that note, Raven, could you go back and change the title of this thread, or at least put a question mark in it, before your mistaken math starts a horde of rumors about a price increase.

Err... I think yer math is a little off. $5 a week for five months is $100 which means the books'll be $33 each... considering he probably rounded things out, I think the price will be remaining at $30.

'snot bad for all those extra pages and updated rules.

I just hope they get the first damn print run right instead of like last time when they had to release a whole stack of errata. I'll be avoiding the first print-run on this basis alone.

Eh. Why would I take offense to something I already admitted?

... but there is more then four weeks in a month. Heh.

*Shrugs* If it helps you sleep at night. :)
