Byron Greywarden Human Fighter

Byron is the son of a very lucky man. Byron's father, Gottfried , had managed to convince his aging father to pass the the family Inn down to him at young age. He was always a shrewd businessman with lofty aspirations and crafty ideas. In only a year, he turned their quaint family Inn, 'The Merry Rover' into an upscale establishment of high repute, "The Guildmaster's Inn". He didn't have the money to do it, of course, but Gottfried was a lucky man - fortunate to have to have found some investors willing to support him. And, despite some unstable years, other people's misfortune turned to Gottfried's fortune. One competitor's Inn burned to the ground - grease fire - while another shut its doors due to some scandal leaving Gottfried as the finest Inn in the city. Gottfried was introduced by a business partner to Rosemary Monteford. She was a noble-born third daughter to a minor aristocratic family. They were an unlikely couple but Gottfried was a shrewd businessman, convincing Lord Monteford that the marriage of his daughter would be a profitable endeavor. Using the dowery money, he bought a warehouse and some wagons. Once again, luck smiled on him as his competitors bowed out of his way through some unfortunate incident or another. His modest empire grew along with the investors who he dubbed as "family men". Byron's mother was always at the inn. She had a mind for math and a head and heart for people - raised to run a Manor full of servants, she turned those skills to running the Inn as her husband's other business endeavors took too much of his time. As for Byron, he seemed to dodge both Lady Fortune's fury and her grace. Instead plodding away, working in the Guildmanster's Inn, never having known it as The Merry Rover. He was plump as a child, always stealing away to the kitchen to pilfer some dessert. His two older brothers daring him towards some stunt that would get him in trouble grew up to be businessmen like their father, rubbing elbows with Powerful People. Byron grew taller and stronger than his portly brothers, although, never quite losing a roundness about the midriff. While he did chores and worked hard, his mind was never set on business affairs. Instead, he dreamed of travel and joining the military like his uncle. Byron practically worshipped his uncle, always listening intently to the war stories and exploits he told after his uncle's travels. It was, therefore, a happy event when he found he would be joining his uncle, newly appointed as a baron, to his new barony. A place where Byron hoped to make a name for himself and become more than an Innkeeper and, instead follow in his Uncle's footsteps. Perhaps some of his father's luck was finally rubbing off.
