Ewww, that one could be some trouble. Especially later with power attacking high strength builds.

I've made use of it in a horribly broken way, but that was with an already-broken (epic level gestalt) character: [rhino's rush+smite evil+full power attack (magic halberd and Str 30ish)+shapechanged to a Leonal (with pounce)+sacrificing a 9th level spell for arcane strike=too scary].

I can think of some places where this could get scary: in conjunction with the charging smite option from PHBII, when shared with a mount that has special abilities when charging (such as pounce), when combined with a smiting power attack, etc.

I don't think it is too scary in a normal game, though.

How would it work when combined with the Pounce ability? Do all attacks get doubled?

I could see this as being fun with the Charging Smite alternate Paladin ability (PHB2?) and Sprited Charge w/ a Lance (dual wielded Lance if combined with Pounce) of course
