Oh, both. I realize I'd phrased that poorly.
The player can't stand DL Tinker Gnomes. And so by default all of his characters have hated gnomes (all varieties) ever since.

I too hate all Gnomes. All because of one particularly mischievous cleric of Garl Glittergold. He basically leaned in HARD into the trickery, got a hold of a deck of many things and partially ruined our groups lives.
