Ring of Freedom of movement vs. revers grav

Would a ring of freedom of movement bypass the effect of a reverse gravity spell?

The ring duplicates the abilities of the spell:

This spell enables you or a creature you touch to move and attack normally for the duration of the spell, even under the influence of magic that usually impedes movement

I'd say that reverse gravity impedes movement.

It certainly doesnt sound like any of those. I really dont see reverse gravity 'impeding movement' anymore than a wall of stone would be 'impeding movement' and I wouldnt let anyone walk through a wall of stone just because they had freedom of movement either

I'd say that, although the ring wearer would be affected by the reverse gravity, he'd be able to move within the area more easily than others. He could, for example, fight others within the reverse gravity effect without penalty. But I'd rule that he's still affected by it.

Reverse gravity doesn't affect you directly, it affects the gravity in its area of effect. IMO not even freedom of movement can fix that, not if you aren't already immune to regular gravity. (After all, gravity "impedes movement" by keeping you stuck to the surface of the planet...)

I'm going with the majority on this one. Freedom of movement helps you against movement hindering effects, but all reverse gravity does is change your floor and ceiling around. Sure, there's some incidental falling damage, but hey.

And wouldn't it be cool if Freedom of Movement helped you avoid those pesky falling circumstances that impede movement? Ooh, what about Freedom of Movement allowing you to move through a square occupied by an enemy? Much like a successful tumble check?

I think I would definitely have to rule that Reverse Gravity is not countered by Freedom of Movement.
