If you are wearing a ring of Invisbility and are invisible, what happens if you get knocked unconcious or killed? Do you become visable or stay invisible?

It depends on when you're knocked unconscious...

Activation: Usually, a ring’s ability is activated by a command word (a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity) or it works continually. Some rings have exceptional activation methods, according to their descriptions.

Invisibility: By activating this simple silver ring, the wearer can benefit from invisibility, as the spell.
Faint illusion; CL 3rd; Forge Ring, invisibility; Price 20,000 gp.

Duration: 1 min./level (D)

CL 3 invisibility lasts for 3 minutes.

A normal ring of invisibility, then, turns you invisible for three minutes with a command word.

Therefore, you'll remain invisible until you either break the invisibility (such as by attacking) or until the duration runs out.

To forge a ring you need to be 12th level so I'd say at least 12min. But otherwise, I agree with the above.

The time depends on the caster level used to make the ring. 3rd level is the lowest you could do because it is the minimum level to obtain the spell. You could have a higher caster level ring, but the maker of the ring would have had to choose to make the caster level higher and would cost more.

I agree with the three minutes from last activation time.
Which seems like very bad news for an invisible character that becomes unconscious and needs help...
Note that anything they DROP becomes visible – it might be kind to have unconscious people drop things that are in their hands, certainly a normal result, although in the rules I think it is only mentioned under “stunned” and “panicked” as a result, so I guess that would count as a house rule. Just a thought.

A ring of invisibility is worth 20 000 gp. By the time the party has access to such an item, they have access to dispel magic and invisbility purge.
