Well, there's no question this is a Lord of the Rings story now.

I admit it. I was ambivalent on S2 right up until I watched that trailer.

We just finished rewatching season 1. I found I enjoyed it more the second time around - was able to better absorb the story. Still love the interactions between Elrond and Durin.

Looking forward to this.

I really liked S1, I just did not necessarily feel a deep need to watch S2. Until now.

Real-life villains do the same. People just don't want to believe that they can be fooled, despite all evidence to the contrary. And that's apparently going to be a recurrent theme this season.
