D&D 5E Rise of Tiamat review

Ugh. No thanks. Adventure Paths are generally well written but they are huge pain to run out of the book. Tons of important information is buried in walls of text. I actually asked on the forums about this, and James Jacobs responded by saying that lots of people buy the APs to read them, not run them, so changing to a more playable format (bullet points and lists rather than heavy prose, for example) just was not going to happen.

I have several PF APs but haven't run any of them. IMO adventures should have a lot more flow charts and bullet lists of important information. Stuff that can easily referenced.

If you shop around, there are many different steels of presenting an AP to the end user. This is where others can add value beyond the core company.

Absolutely. I should have said "most" since at the very least Kingmaker is very well written from a utilitarian perspective. I have not run it in its entirety but I have mined it for multiple adventures and campaigns -- that's hard to do if something is not written to be used. By contrast though, I found running Jade Regent nearly impossible due to buried details. It's the AP that made me give up on APs, in fact.
