I must admit, this combination of words does pique my interest! 😝

LOL autocorrect.

That particular adventure is a flawed masterpiece. People go on and on about how brilliant it is, but, well, I'll commit heresy and say that there are some pretty significant issues with it too. Like a map with comments about the difficulty of crossing terrain (there has been a flood), how much a little bit (or a lot) of water slows the party down etc... but the map has no scale!

The rival party, known as The Crows, has 10 pages devoted to not just their stats but their tactics and motives. Definitely part of the masterpiece side of the equation.

Deviant Art has a lot, and many of the artists allow free use for non-commercial home use. (Just respect the ones that do not.)

I found some good ones, and honestly quite silly ones just searching "adventuring party". Plate wearers is a pretty standard element of a party so yeah you're gonna have to sift through that no matter what, but:

Finding diverse adventuring parties....yeah. That takes some work.

Alternatively you could find individual pictures of the sort of adventurer you're looking for and then just show the players one face at a time instead of a group shot. Might be easier to put together you idea of a party.

The 4e Players Strategy Guide might be able to help you, with some drawings / portraits and a group description or two. (AFB, might be thinking of another book altogether.)

I'm a horrible artist but you might be able to take some non-shaded portraits and just tint the skin a bit to get the rough effect you want.

Pathfinder put out a Rival Guide, described here:
https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Rival_Guide

I don’t think it had group shots of the parties, but it did have individual pictures of the members. It provides 8 adventuring parties/mercenary groups across all levels, with different themes and story hooks. I found it to be a great resource. Shouldn’t be too difficult to convert for 5E. I’m pretty sure you’d find at least one of the groups suitable for ToA.

Found this thru the "similar threads" feature, figured it could make for a bump, so...

Bump, any other NPC party picture resources...?
