Rod of Empower + Quicken

Is it worth it or even possible to add the power of Quicken (Moderate) to a Rod of Empower (moderate)?

Just wondering if its financially feasible or worthwhile doing :)

Thanks,

Worthwhile, certainly. It'd be one stupidly powerful rod.

Financially feasable...er... not so much. Not by a long shot.

So what would the cost be, Rod of Quicken + 1.5x Rod of Empower.
Are you looking for them to both activate on one use, or are you just avoiding the move action to retrieve the next rod?

I would guess the move action to retrieve would allow you to store the first one, but I could see some DM's requiring one move to stow the first rod and a second to retrieve the next one.

The reason is due to the move action. At this point, my Cleric has Gloves of Storing (if thats what its called) so has his Morning Star and his Rod of Empower at very easy retreival. I am interested in purchasing a rod of quickening but the move action is what I want to not lose :) It would be to use it one at a time, not both a a time.

Was wondering what the cost was and if it was worth it....

Why not just buy both a rod of each?
If you were a sorcerer/bard/etc you could use both with only one hand, while still keeping something in the other. Of course, if you are a sorcerer/bard/etc you cannot use the rod of quicken at all, but it might be worth doing for a different combination.

It doesn't make any difference to a wizard/cleric/etc*.

* Unless you let wizards apply metamagic on the fly, of course.

If you are a cleric you don't have to worry about it. Prep time is 15 minutes or 1 hour, so there is plenty of time to get out all the rods you might want to use.

EDIT: Except, I guess you are not playing it that way. Without wishing to go through the whole debate again here, opinion on the matter is divided, but I am strongly of the opinion that wizards and clerics use the rods at prep time (just like the feats on which they are based).

ANOTHER EDIT:A quick search turns up that it was last debated here.
