Rod of Mercy

I am interested in feedback on the Rod of Mercy. I priced it as a Lesser Rod of Metamagic, Maximize for the base price of 14,000gp with the additon of the Spectral Hand power. My formula for this was:

Spell Level x 2 (1 min/level spell) x spell level x 2,000gp
2 x 2 x 3 x 2,000gp = 24,000gp base price

Divided by 1.67 due to only 3 charges per day = 14,371

Multiplied by 0.75 since it is a second power = 10,778

I then added this to 14,000gp base price = 24,778

I rounded to 25,000gp

Rod of Mercy – These rods of silver and ash wood are capped with the open palmed hand of Os at the top and a simple cap of silver on the other end. Priests use the rods to improve the effectiveness of their healing magic. The rods function as a Lesser Rod of Metamagic, Maximize for all healing spells cast by a priest of Os. This function only applies to spells of 3rd level or lower and is limited to three uses per day. In addition, they allow healing spells with a range of touch to be cast on a target up to 30’ away. This function works for all levels of healing spells and its use is limited to three per day. Both effects can be combined at the will of the wielder.
Strong (no school); CL 17th; Craft Rod, Maximize Spell feat, Spectral Hand; Price 25,000gp; Weight 3 lbs.

Well, I posted this on the WotC boards. It is being suggested that this rod should cost anywhere from 50,000-85,000gp. That is on par with +8/+9 armor, +5/+6 weapons or a middle range Major Wondrous Item.

Any thoughts by people here?

Well, one guy "doesn't discount pricing for anything" in his own words. The others seem to have found much more expensive ways to arrive at the abilities of the rod and firmly believe that my approach is "wrong."

It has been interesting though. After my reply to their input, most have scaled back their pricing and now one person says 25,000gp is too high. The "Non-Discounter" holds firm at a price of 80,000+gp. I personally would rather have the +9 armor or +6 weapon in his campaign than this rod.
