D&D 5E (2024) [Eberron, 5th Edition] A comparison of the 2020 Tasha's Artificer to the 2025 Forge of the Artificer

D&DBeyond haven't brought the spells from Xanathar's to the new Artificer yet while they did so for the rest of the spells for that class. Give it a bit.
They likely won’t be bringing the Xanathar ones. They have said they are only adding spells to the Artificer list if the spell itself lists Artificer as a class for the spell. The Xanathar spells (at least those that haven’t been reprinted) don’t list any class in their description, this was a thing added in later books.

So because the older spells don’t mention classes themselves, and instead were only mentioned as part of the Artificer list in the 2014 class, and because those spells aren’t mentioned directly in the 2024 class list, they won’t be added until/unless they are reprinted and listed as Artificer options.

Battle Smiths generally don't want to use it past 2rd level. They already get to make weapon attack with their caster stat, and True Strike is worse than making two attacks. The only use case is if you really need to deal Radiant damage.
Did you mean 3rd level?

The class can change cantrips on a long rest, so the above is irrelevant as some sort of rebuttal of my objectively correct statement that 2024 True Strike is a great add for them. Most people don't skip the first two levels, and without it many players feel beholden to have a better dex or strength than they feel the need for with the ability to attack with Int from level 1.
Artillerists though, yeah totally. Grab a ranged weapon, make it a magic rune carved gun or bow that shoots spells with Arcane Firearm, steal flavor notes from Outlaw Star or your preferred superhero archer with trick arrows.
yes....?

did you really read my comment and think I was unaware of any of this?

It doesn't make sense to me. Both Tasha's and Rising references Xanathar's for the Artificer spell list, Forge supplements Rising, and the 2024 classes have access to Xanathar's spells without issue. Plus, 5.24 promises backwards compatibility.

YMMV. Every campaign I've been in has skipped those levels since the early days of 5e.

I was agreeing, echoing, and amplifying the sentiment.
