All of the times I encountered Roger, I found him to be incredibly friendly and generous. He also has a great sense of humor and was gracious and patient with all of the many fans of his work who bombarded him with questions and comments.

He is a super-nice guy who fought hard to be the voice for a fan-base at a time when the internet wasn't what it is now.

That's Bruce Heard. He still pops in on the Mystara boards on the WotC site from time to time, and was active on the Mystara Mailing List for several years. He recently wrote another Princess Ark article for Dragon, too. (Hoping he's able to do another for the last issue... )

Anyone who calls a professional like Moore -- who did SO MUCH great work for our hobby, contributed so much imagination and wit and thoughfulness to my own life, and who politely responds to emails from TOTAL STRANGERS -- a jerk is so far off the map of any kind of NORMAL human interaction that I'm left speechless.

This goes beyond stuff like "WotC hates gamers!" or "George Lucas raped my childhood!" I can't think of anything so horrible and pathetic and unthinking.

Having NEVER met a man, having almost no knowledge of not just him, but the actual incident in question, but to go ahead and pass such a nasty little judgement on him anyway is petty and stupid and cruel.

Roger Moore is most definitely NOT the jerk in this discussion. And frankly, if I ever meet him, I'm buying the man a drink just for inspiring this character-revealing spew. I don't know anything about HIS character after reading this thread, but I have certainly learned a great deal about YOURS.
