Rogue Changes - due to recent updates / publications ?

Not really up to date with whats going on with the "Rogue" !!!
Note: I done mean Thief.

But I have read things like new feats he can use, and changes to how many times you can apply sneak attack damage in a round.

Is this all come out in the new Essentials, I am not sure how stuff here would affect the Rogue.

Sounds good if there are new feats for the rogue, but rule changes on sneak attack that apply to Thief and Rogue ?

The most recent rules update changed the frequency with which a Rogue (Not just a Theif) can use his Sneak Attack class feature. Now, instead of once per round, it can be applied once per turn. Rogues just fell in love with Warlords all over again.

Also the Weapons for Sneak Attack have slightly changed, they have added the Short Box but excluded all Crossbows except the Hand Crossbow.

This was only for the Thief, correct? Rogues can still use crossbows, I thought.

Nevermind. That's everyone.

Cheers thanks guys, just a couple of questions:

1. Why is this not in the standard updates that come out, and in some essentials update ?
2. Are there more updates like this not through the normal channel that I dont know about ?
3. What about new feats for Rogues, is that in the essentials book ?

1 and 2 -

Basically they put out a single update, about essentials, but it is all the updates that apply to pre-essential things. (i.e. errata instead of just "new features"). Basically a "if you don't play an essential character, here are the updates relevant to you". Some of the stuff included are the magic items that are considered to be common, wizard spells that have been errata'd, the rule about which implements work with which powers, etc ...

3 - There are no feats in the book that have a race or class prerequisite. However, there are some things that rogues might be interested in. New expertise feats not only improve their attack bonus to +1 per tier instead of +1/+2/+3 at 1/15/25, but also have rider effects (light blades deal bonus damage while you have combat advantage, for example).

Mmmm... while its good for my rogue by the looks of it.
I guess it just means we have to get the essentials book even though we arent going to use the essentials line of PC's.
Oh well you can never have too much D&D:blush:

Well, as you seem to be rogue-centric, I would say that is a good idea. There is some very nice rogue stuff in the Fallen book.

I have been DM for a 5 year campaign in 2nd Edition, so now we have a 4e campaign and I am a rogue so yep rogue centric.
But also wanting clarifications on rules and manuals for the rest of the group, trying to keep everyone up to date on the most recent updates.

Would be nice if they did updated versions with all the errata of the manuals.
