Make an archer rogue (it is also funny). Improved initiative is good, but point blank shot, precise shot, rapid shot etc. is much better. I am playing archer rogue for years (litterary) and it is great tactical option, althought it is not as deadly as it probably could be. But id depends on your intentions, your DM and group etc.

You could consider some kind of 'Improved Death Attack' feat, i'm not sure where you can find it but it improves (or worsens, depending on how you look at it) the save DC of your death attack.
