Lead through the dunes by visions of a young woman wreathed in fire, Kaniel survived and was eventually captured by slavers from Qudra. Accepting the markings of The Mamluk, Kaniel took the names of the Al-Hadhar and distinguished himself as loyal soldier and able leader.
