I'm not sure who or what's supposed to get the Alchemical Juggernaut ability.

The article seems to be too much crammed in too little a space.

The main villain has the power. Its mentioned in the final paragraph of the article.

Just thinking about how the challenge might go...

3rd level challenge (assume 3rd level party).
Rogue has perception of +8 or so, with assists from fellow PCs members can probably get a +12 to +14 on the Perception rolls.

That's a fairly good success chance, so I'm happy with that.

Cheers!

I thought that "everyone just assists the guy who's best at the role" was another target the challenge rules were supposed to get rid of...

Also the rogue is unlikely to have such a good perception skill. A party member might have a perception skill like that if they've decided to go with the appropriate stat and skill, but the only class who values the stat for something else, and also gets the skill is the ranger.

How does one go about helping someone with a perception check?

"You, smack all the women and tell them to shut up and get me some pie! You, get me my beer ale hat, daddy needs to concentrate!"?

Player 1 rolls Perception normally while Player 2 Aids Another. In game I would play it like this (assuming both succeed)..."Player 2 crouches down and detects something in the dirt that maybe tracks; he waives Player 1 over who confirms they are tracks, they are made by humanoids, and head west into the woods..."
