I hope this film is not disappointing. I am anticipating this film more than any other this year. The last book in the trilogy is the best, and it will be the hardest to bring to life on-screen properly. The general public will be much easier to please than us hardcore Tolkien fans.

If that is the case, I hope Jackson and Co. are aiming to please the general public.

Considering the source material, we could get a great film or a faithful adapatation---but not both. IMO, of course.
