What happens when the capes fall… and get back up hungry?

Rotted Capes: Second Bite is a superhero-horror TTRPG about B-listers keeping the lights on after Z-Day—protecting the living, outsmarting Super-Zs, and paying the bill for every “rule of cool” moment with grit, risk, and consequences.

What makes it different

  • Cinematic Skill Sets: Players justify wild, creative solutions through flexible Skill Sets that reward clever play (no “roll the one skill or fail” funnels).
  • Plot Points that actually move scenes: Bend the fiction, set up big stunts, or “break the rules” when it truly matters (and yes, the Editor can toss twists right back).
  • Burnout: Push powers hard and manage the fallout; tap into “untapped potential” at a cost when the story begs for it.
  • The Living Enclave: Your base and community are characters too—Cohesion, Resources, and Security evolve in response to your choices between Issues.
  • Super-Zs as apex predators: Territorial, terrifying, and never just “bigger zombies.” They’re boss fights with history.

Grab the Press Pass (Free)

  • Starter Adventure: One Bad Day (a punchy, table-ready issue to demo tone, Skill Sets, Plot Points, and a taste of enclave play)
  • From the desk of the Stat Monkey: What changed from 1st edition and why.

Coverage angles & why your readers may care

  • System tech: how Plot Points + Burnout create high-octane “comic book beats” without endless subsystems.
  • GM tools that scale: Challenges, Dramatic Sequences, and Enclave Interludes for tables that mix story-first and tactics-curious players.
  • Tone control out of the box: Run it campy, gritty, or full-on horrific without rewriting the engine.
  • Quick to table: 15-minute character builds for demos; One Bad Day runs clean in a single session.

Assets & contact

  • Press Pass (above) includes everything you need to preview and run the intro issue.
  • I'm happy to provide quotes, interviews, screenshots, and additional artwork on request. DM me here or reply in-thread and I’ll follow up.

Content note: Superhero action + zombie horror (survival stakes, gore themes). We keep it comic-book cinematic rather than splatter-for-splatter’s sake.

Thanks for taking a look, hope you’ll give the Fastplay a spin and tell us how your table survived their first bad day. If they want a second? Well… it always gets worse.
