(RP) Dangerous Legacy Part 2

Sel nimbly evades the brunt of the blast and takes one step to the south-east, motioning to Jaeden to move into a flanking position, then he strikes the monster hound.

 

[Vendetta]

((Sorry mate, went to comicon, then got a terrible cold... so I'm late and I apologize))

Sel avoids the brunt of the fiery blast (Taking only 3 points of damage) as does Jaeden. The pair slip to opposite sides of the beast and make their thrusts. The pair both score again and the beast falls to the ground. It doesn't appear to be dying, but surely, it appears incapacitated to some extent (Zero HPs)

Thomas and Devin also step into the room, with the guard attacking the nearest hound that had rushed at Liam. Krueger takes a scorching from his own beast and, in a blind retaliation, misses with his ax stroke.

Sel stabs at the hound another time, and if this drops the beast, rushes to the hound fighting Krueger (to the square south-east, for easy flanking setup).

 

[Vendetta]

With little movement or action coming from the wounded hellhound, it is nothing for Sel to finish off the beast with a single jab into the thing's heart, dropping it dead to the ground. Sel then moves quickly behind the creature that Krueger is fighting. Taking Sel's cue, Krueger moves to establish a solid flanking position. The dwarf's ax is true this time, the the beast somehow managed to avoid enough of the blow so that it was not fatal.

Thomas slices at the hound in front of him, getting a good cut across the "shoulder" of its front right leg. The beast lunges at the guard and clamps its maw down on his upper thigh. Thomas cries out in pain as the last beast rushes forward and belches forth a plume of flames that engulfs Thomas, Liam, and Devin. Liam ducks behind the guard, diminishing the burn, but both Thomas and Devil take the full brunt of the the gout of fire.

Jaeden rushes forward to engage the new hellhound.

Meanwhile, amid the confusion, somehow the halfling, Gemble, has slipped past the frey and is making his way toward the Lady Asta as she lay upon the altar. The young noblewoman stirs again and seems to be waking up.

Half happy, half surprised at Gemble's initiative, Sel nevertheless keeps an eye on the going-ons as he tries to skewer the second hound.

 

[Vendetta]

Sel watches Krueger's attack, as does the beast, wary of a dwarf wielding a massive ax as he is. The creature dodges the dwarf's attack and lunges at him, clamping down on Krueger's thigh... but leaving the swordsman be proves to be its fatal error as Sel's blade plunges deep into the creature, dropping it to the floor.

Gemble moves closer to the Lady Asta as she starts to scream in confusion for where she is and the restraints binding her in place. Jaeden's blade misses its mark, but he appears to be "keeping it busy" more than trying to kill it as the bard dances easily away from its bite.

Devin, body smoldering in the flames, steps back and attempts to heal himself but the spell fails under his obvious pain. Thomas, the worse for the wear, with an angry hell hound clamped onto his own thigh, makes a desperate plunging motions with his sword that cuts into the creature's neck, killing it instantly as Liam unloads a bolt of eldritch energy into it, sealing the deal.

Behind the Lady Asta, the large wooden doors begin to open...

Sel rushes to Lady Asta's side, trying to calm her down a bit "We're here to save you. King Promus sent us." and trying to free at least one of her hands. He tries to be ready for battle when the doors are open.
