Welcome to the Bundles, Freebies, and Sales News, the weekly column at EN World that helps make sure you don’t miss out on big tabletop RPG bundles, charity fundraisers, and sales from around the internet.
Freebies and Pay What You Want
Note: While “Pay What You Want” downloads are available for free, please support the creators if you are able!
With the virtual convention Roll20Con wrapping up this weekend, there’s still time to grab the free offerings from the convention on the Roll20 Marketplace. You can pick up starter sets for Call of Cthulhu and Alien RPG, the full system for Alice is Missing, quickstarts for Deadlands, The Dark Eye, Call of Cthulhu, Apocalypse Keys, and Monster of the Week, and adventures for Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and Vampire: The Masquerade, plus map and token collections.
Mana Project Studio put out the quickstart for Cowboy Bebop Roleplaying Game for those who want to kick the tires of the system before backing their current ongoing Kickstarter.
Dicey Prospects released Mimics in the Museum, a system-agnostic adventure that is “mostly intended” for 5e with a 2nd-3rd level party. At the grand re-opening of Madame Forzaber’s waxwork museum, a dark ritual just completed unleashing extradimensional horrors on the terrified party-goers as mimics replace some (but not all!) of the waxwork pieces.
Calling this a “starter set” is a bit of a misnomer the same way calling the giant 3-foot showpiece statues “miniatures” is a bit off as The Calling: Starter Set from Ohad Reiter is a massive 280 page rulebook for the Wuxia Sci-Fi Western RPG. Yes, this is definitely one of those games where the art sells the setting as the cover features a woman in a cowboy hat with a katana fighting a T-Rex with a railgun in its mouth who has pinned down a barbarian with a laser pistol.
Over on Dungeonmasters Guild, SaltedHorse has a one-shot Halloween module Sulphur for 1st level characters. Can the party unravel the mystery around The Stag Inn, and is it possible they are actually the horror plaguing the small town?
Just in time for spooky season, Matthew Brannan has a new class for 5e based on the legends and myth of witches. This casting class has a diverse spell list, an unparalleled ability with potion-crafting, and access to unique ritual magic plus five Coven subclasses to choose from: The Cosmic Coven to divine the future and alter fate itself, the Elemental Coven bending the four elements to your will, the Fey Coven moving along the tense social setting of the Fey, the Hedge Coven calling forth spirits and walking the line between life and death, and the Shadow Coven to tie demonic beings to your control.
Gabriel Gro is back again as all the subclasses from last week weren’t enough, this time we have Bard Subclass: College of Horror for the performer who likes to put fear in their audience. Not only can you use your Bardic Inspiration to inspire fear in any creature, you gain access to the ability to alter your form into that of a selection of Frightful Guises.
And that’s not all from Gabriel as we’ve also got Spooky Equipment, a collection of magic items perfect for the season including an everburning pumpkin, the mask of disguise, a collapsible coffin, and my personal favorite, the twin enchanted daggers of Trick n’ Treat.
It’s also the perfect time of year to check out the offerings over on Storyteller’s Vault for the World of Darkness, starting with a collection of pre-generated neonates for Vampire: The Masquerade from Elyse Haws. The selection of six characters to choose from will help speed up those looking to try out the gothic-punk RPG (and see below for some offers to help you get started).
And the last thing one should wish to do during Samhain is offend the Fae, so I couldn’t leave out the new kith for Changeling: The Lost 2nd Edition in the supplement We’re All Mad Here from DM Hubbard. Based on the classic Mad Hatter, this kith offers new blessings to invoke on enemies or just throw the maddest party ever seen.

Knightmap collected several of the contemporary spooky-themed maps together for the Halloween Battle Map Bundle. Creepy carnivals, horrific corn fields, haunted pumpkin patches, spider-infested dark forests, and more available in 4k 40x30 maps ready for virtual tabletops with multiple variations on each map including gridded/non-gridded and with/without fog/clouds.
While Knightmap’s offerings focus on the contemporary, Heroic Maps put together two bundles for fantasy and Victorian era horror settings. The first bundle is Heroic Maps – Hallwoeen 2022 Monsters with taverns, haunted houses, crypts, and more while the second bundle is Heroic Maps – Halloween 2022 Horror featuring a haunted windmill, mad scientist’s lab, abandoned asylum, and more.
And over on DMs Guild, you can’t say “Halloween RPGs” without mentioning the setting Ravenloft, and the Halloween Fun Bundle adds several new options for your games in the Demiplane of Dread. Expanded encounters options, setting information (including an option for a reimagined Countess Strahd von Zarovich), new dangers to face such as new hexes and diseases, adventures, brand new domains, and of course a guidebook with Van Richten’s Pocketbook to Ravenloft.
