So people keep saying....

Is it saying "Orc attacks with magic using [spell name]" or does it just say "Orc attacks using [spell name]"?

If the latter, it's not using magic; the system is just getting confused about attack names (which is what I believe the bug has been isolated to - hope so, anyway).

i just noted the spell names he tossed at me.

Again, I ask - what is meant by "losing MP to attacks"?

If you mean "casting a spell costs MP", then, yes I like the idea.

If you mean "losing HP also reduces MP", then, no, I don't like the idea. But I haven't even considered moving onto changing that from the default setup until we have the attacks themselves working correctly.
Sorry for not being clear. I wasn't sure what the issue was. It's the latter, and I'm glad you agree. :D Thanks!

Monsters seem to be closer to correct. Yeah, the attack names are screwing up sometimes, but as far as spells actually cast at me, these are within the monster's MP range and it is deducting MP for the casting.

Wraith just hit me with an Ice Storm rd 1 and a Fireball rd 2 and it had 0 MP remaining.

However....

I can still cast spells for free. And I still lose MP when I take HP damage - if I get hit for 10 HP then 5 MP is also deducted. This is happening to the monsters, too, so they are losing MP twice as fast...

OK, this is the last time I'm gonna say this in this or any other thread. If the issue comes up again, I''m going to ignore it.

1) The system is screwing up attack names. Unless it uses the phrases "using magic", the bot has not used magic, whatever the attack name used.

2) I know that spells aren't deducting MP when you cast them.

3) I know that HP damage also causes MP damage. I don't think that's a good idea. I have not even started to look into it. I will do so when the MP are working corrrectly.

If anyone brings up one of these things here, or in any other thread, I'm gonna ignore it. Sorry, but I get tired of repeating myself. It's like the number of times I've had to repeat info about the emailed thread notification or the report post feature. :)
