RPG Platform: Shake up in Management

First Post
A recent shake up in Management for The RPG Platform has occurred.

In order to better serve the RPG Industry and Community, the Platform will become a Trade Magazine, concentrating on upcoming releases, news from the industry and reviews by gamers.

There will also be articles in future issues written by freelancers, explaining what it is like to work in the industry and how to get started.

There will also be an RPG Price Guide produced in conjunction with the RPG Platform.

We are looking for assistance in this massive undertaking. Publishers, if you wish to have your release schedules included in this magazine, please include a brief write up of you product lines and the company as a whole.

If anyone wishes to get involved in this, please email me:

The shake up is a very good thing. Trust me. The original idea for the Platform was good, but the new idea is much better.

Some details are still being worked out, concerning the first issue.

I believe by concentrating on the publishers and the gamers as a whole, along with the all-important freelancers, the RPG Platform can provide a great service to the RPG Community.

It will be a place where someone can go to find out what their favorite publishers are up to in terms of attending conventions, upcoming releases and new products that are being planned.

This would be all in one place, making it easier and more convenient for everyone.

Hal, write-ups about Mystic Eye Games and Thunderhead Games and the merger would be very helpful. And if available, a list of upcoming releases and convention appearances.

Hopefully a basic website will be up in the next couple of days or so as well.

I should also mention that we are accepting reviews on products, movies, novels and rpg board and computer games.

(now if I could just learn to type as fast as I think!)

Thanks Hal! You are the greatest!

I'm still working on the Netbook for Bluffside and downloaded the latest web enhancement which I will print and read this evening.

Anna, no worries, you have a lot on your plate and have not let us down yet!

This may not be the appropriate place, but what happened to the previous "editor-in-chief" (and I use the term loosely)? Whatever the reason, it's good to see you in charge.

More importantly who was the previous "editor-in-chief"? So that when the police comes around asking question about J. Doe, i can put up my innocent look (zoolander trademarked)...

[Ok, so it's late and i'm in a ridicules mood ;-]

Let's just say I can be "persuasive" when necessary.:D

Seriously, though, the gaming industry means a lot to me. No, it's not an obsession, at least I don't think it is. Hmmm. The RPG Platform can serve several purposes for the entire community of gamers: publishers, freelancers and the all-important gamers.

I want the industry to grow, but in a normal way, I suppose. Not by ramming an opinion down another's throat. In something like the Platform, personal opinions should be kept out of it. At least that's my feeling on the matter.

We'll just have to wait and see if this bird can fly once it leaves the nest.

Anna,

I have sent your our publisher information for September, and our latest order form to get things rolling.

Let us know what else you might want to help out here.

Thanks,
