RPG Podcasts - Which Ones Are Worth A Listen?

At the same time I'm wondering what good 4e podcasts are out there (outside of the Penny Arcade ones).

The ones I mentioned as D&D casts have a lot of D&D4:
  • Radio Free Hommlet
  • The Tome Show
  • Open Design Podcast (Wolfgang Baur's cast)

Somebody mentioned Fear the Boot (though it's not one of my favourites), and there are several others as well. But I recommend the three above (except perhaps Open Design, which is slowly veering towards 4e but mostly D&D3 and clones).

I'm familiar with Tome and am listening to RFH, but they're a bit too crunch to my taste.

A podcast form of the many 4e blogs that talk about ideas for DMs or fluff or style or whatnot.

To be honest I have yet to find a good 4E podcast that isn't coming out of WotC and I only find a few of those useful.

None of the ones mentioned so far cut the mustard for me.

Return to Northmoor is a pretty interesting cast.

I've only listened to a couple of episodes, but it's a podcast where they every other episode go through how they plan a D&D4 adventure, and every other is an AP cast where you can hear how it went.

Role Playing Public Radio is pretty good. They actually spend most of their time talking about RPGs and related stuff. They also have a HUGE libarary of actual play recordings. In their last podcast, they mentioned that they'd be splitting the actual plays off into its own feed. One warning: they have an explicit tag on iTunes, and they REALLY mean it.

You might be interested to know that the d20 Radio Network just started a new fluff-oriented D&D podcast called City of Doors. So far, it's very 4E-centric. For example, one early podcast brainstormed possible villainous followers of the PC gods from the POL setting (in an effort to add depth to the pantheon). Unfortunately, I can't find a proper web site for the podcast, except for its facebook page. I heard about it via RFH and found it by searching iTunes.

Pulp Gamer is a great cast. They are a general gaming podcast, as in paper/plastic/lead tabletop games, board games, card games, RPG's, and even an occasional miniatures game.

They have a few casts on their site. Note they have been playing a 3.5/Pathfinder game and a couple of words here and there about it get mentioned but really not that much, I think they should do an 'actual play' cast.

Many of the others I like and listen to are already mentioned.

Note that Return to Northmore has an interesting twist, they are building a campaign and a set of adventures on the cast then playing highlights from actual play.

Allow me to humbly mention Darker Days, of which I am co-host. It is wholly dedicated to World of Darkness games (old and new). So it might well not be what you're after if what you're looking for is a D&D-related podcast. But if you fancy a WoD-fix, check us out. Special features, GMing advice, reviews, interviews with White Wolf staffers, gaming news, and a look at strange news from around the globe and how to turn it into cool gaming material. Next week sees the release of our tenth show. Can't really believe that we've hit double-digits already :)
