what I really fine funny is people have 100 more victories then me and still are only about the same level

it has more to do with HP, you need to be able to stand with him while you get him down.

Nah the victories thing makes sense I get the same XP (approxmately) from 3 kobolds as I would from 1 death knight, because it takes 3 rounds of XP gain to slay the evil knight of doom!.

what it means is people are fighting battles way too easy for them

Nah it means they didn't have the 360 Def banded mail for about 100 Wraiths we couldn't have otherwise slain.

I've run away from him once. Does that count?

I had told the battle generator that I wanted to fight a kobold, i bleieve (I was still 0th level). I must have hit the down arrow or something cause when i hit create battle, i was up against the Balrog. Couldn't run away fast enough.
