RPG Superstar - Are you watching?

Hey there everybody! If you haven't heard of RPG Superstar, it's basically the D&D version of American Idol, complete with our very own 'Simon' (Clark Peterson, head of Necromancer Games) and other awesome judges (Wes Schneider from Pathfinder fame as well as Sean K. Reynolds!). The event is run by Paizo and all the rules used in the competition are supposed to be Pathfinder compatible.

Round 1's challenge was open to everyone and was a 'Create a Wondrous Item' challenge where they narrowed the contestants down to 32.

I am very happy to say that I was able to get into the top 32 and am currently competing in Round 2's 'Create a Monster' round.

You can check out all the excitement here at RPG Superstar. If you have time to register and vote, please do so! (The voting thread is kind of hard to find, so here's a quick link as well: Voting Booth

If you want to help out a fellow EN Worlder, check out my entry! You can find me on the main blogpost-I'm the third one down, Andrew Sun aka Sollir. If you like my monster, please consider voting for me. Thanks!

For those checking out the competition, what do you think of it so far? If you missed out on qualifying this year, this is the 3rd time it's run and it looks like they intend on having more in the future :)

Do we get video footage of Clark being a cock as he disparages the ones who don't make the cut? Cuz I think that is the only reason AI gets watched heh. Hard to picture Clark slotting into that role from what I've heard about him tho. Seems more positive than that.

Take my judge comments with a grain of salt, lol. All the judges are really awesome and for the most part positive, but Clark's been on the board for all three competitions and has quite the persona while judging. He can definitely be tough, but I don't think any tougher than he would as a publisher. His words do carry quite a bit of weight to them, at least so far this year-and definitely not to my advantage right now! :)

As for the point you brought up, no, no videos but it's still well worth taking a look at. A lot of the items statted up last round are pretty cool and the monsters this round have been pretty nasty. Check it out!

I will certainly check it out. I had seen something on the Paizo page, but as I now stay away from their page and forum I was out of the loop on this (I just buy material for the Pathfinder rpg, and I am really not a fan of that messageboard, so I just throw money at them). Thank you for pointing it out.

Just make sure your monster isn't LOOKIN' LIKE A FOOL WITH HIS PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!

(Good luck with the competition!)

B-)

Totally. The more the merrier and what not. Voting ends Tuesday, so if you like awesome monsters, awesome monster designers, and want to see more of both in Pathfinder products, take a quick look and vote for your favs.

Remember, this contest isn't just for a personal fame and publicity, we find a lot of great authors every year and most certainly intend to keep them busy. So vote for what you like and there's a good chance you'll see more of it in the coming years.

For those of you catchin' up, voting ends tomorrow at 4 pm central, with the winners announced the same time Tuesday! You can vote for 4 monsters and change your votes any time up 'til the voting ends :)

ancientvaults -> My pleasure! I'm not too familiar with the boards myself, I generally check it for commentary/advice on the adventure paths. In your experience, what's weird or bad about them?

Thanks a lot jaerdaph and DaveMage :) I'm hoping to get into the next round (much like all the contenders I imagine!) but if I don't, it's been a really fun ride.

WesSchneider -> Thanks for stopping by! You mean it isn't a popularity contest? Aw, oh well. I'd get fanboy-ish but I guess I'll wait til after the competition ;)
