And, for what it's worth, I'd kicked around getting a tattoo for ages before finally committing to the deed four years ago.

i am an easier fit... i have Pooh and Piglet on my right pectoral, 16 silhouetted hands around my navel, the cat in the hat 14" tall on my left outer calf, a 4 color koi on my left inside calf, the chinese characters for "collective conscious" outside my left calf and a tree frog just below my beltline....i am preparing to have the joker put inside my rt calf..and i have a huge samurai i want on my back, thinking of doing it for my 40th b-day, and it all seems bery relevant to me.

the wife has some vines from a medieval illumination intertwined with a chain on he back HUGE, from below the pantline up the left side to almost her neck....most cool!

No tattoos currently.....but im wanting several......none are really rpg related.

1. rose on my ankle (stem circling the ankle, covering a rope burn scar)
2. Pentagram on my shoulder, for my religion.
3. Dragon circling my arm.
4. Celtic designs anywhere.

I, too, have a RPG-Werewolf: The Apocalypse-based tattoo... one from the original WW book, pre-second edition and one that hasn't been used since ;-) It's a modified image of a Silent Strider smirking over his leather-clad shoulder while a full moon gleams high in the sky overhead. Don't really have a good pic of it, as it's on my right thigh, but I suppose I should, particularly since I've had it now for more than 5 years! *chuckles*

PS-Yeah, I know... I'm inked as a White Wolf'er, but I'm a d20'er... go fig, eh? *mutters under his breath*

Clay,

My wife is truly the reason I finally moved forward on getting a tattoo. On our third date, we'd gone dancing at a club and many of the hotties there that night were wearing half-shirts & halter tops which showed off their belly button rings and/or tattoos. Upon exiting the club, my wife declared she wanted to get a tattoo...right then. I told her she was drunk (even though she'd only had one drink all night :)), and that she wasn't serious. While we waited for the valet to bring my car around, she declared again that she wanted a tattoo. I told her to sleep on the idea...and lo and behold, the next morning I'd decided what tattoo I wanted!!

We went together about a week later, and she got a butterfly floating amidst a few flowering vines, inked at the base of her spine. Granted, we didn't have kids or the vacation to Disney at the time, but that just goes to show what a wise choice Mickey was after all :D.

Tattoos are so....permanent. My grandpa had a tattoo of a sailor girl on his right forearm that he'd gotten in world war II, and it was barely recognizable as the ink faded and the image dissolved into a blurry mass of green over the course of his lifetime. Whenever I consider getting a tattoo, I remember grandpa's sailor girl.

Also, I'm a hairy, flabby guy, and I think tattoos look best on those freakish men who seem to have no hair on their rock-hard bodies. If I had a body like that I'd probably get a tattoo too. But sorry, I'm not taking my shirt off in public. :D

cool story!

as for you force user, a new reason to show off your bod may be the inspiration you need to de-flab yourself :)

I firmly believe in the philosophy of not counting one's chickens before they hatch. I know myself well enough to know that with my intense loathing of physical pain, any tattoo I wasted money on would languish under my size XXL shirt forever :)

LOL forceuser! you know yourself best....at 3 piercings and 6 tats, i think i have gotten as used to it as i can, and i think that is part of it, doing something others will not or cannot  :p
