Hey, cool sig, Alsih2o. But....isn't the clay chemical formula more like: AlSiOH?

I mean, are we talkin' kaolinite, here? Illite? Maybe Vermiculite? 'Course, perhaps yer stuck on Smectite...... (pronounce that carefully, all you non-geologists.....)

alsih2o iis the basis for "true clay" a nonexistent perfection like h2o in nature...alumina and silica must be present for something to be considered clay...but saying clay is like saying canine, it can mean many different things.

it is more a reference to a ceramics 1 clay that gets you interested, as for differing formulas, well, i am sure you and i could bore the wholer est fo the world going inot that
