[RPG] Version 2?

Any word on when Version 2 might be released?

When Morrus sent me the code, I investigated changing the XP code... but it required me to rewrite a huge amount of code, so I've basically abandoned it until (a) version 2 comes out or (b) I have more time than I have currently.

So... any news?

Here's what I know. Please excuse the dodgy spelling and grammar below - I didn't write it!

  • v2 is 9% complete. No release date yet. I'd guess a couple of months.
  • New features are "announced" as they are written. This is what has apparently been written so far:
    • The new battle attack system is under construction, and it requires to removal of the attacks, this means no MP or normal attacks randomly conjured up from no where, and also no animations, and best of all, no javascript which a few browsers had trouble with.
    • New Attacking System - Fists/Weapons. As opposed to the random system this is now in conjunction with the attack system with the battle ground, you may use any "weapons" that you have purchased within battle, each one will display its own little message inside the battle log. Rage/Limit Break are still included
    • New RPG Stats: Evasion + Vitality.
      • Evasion: This can reduce damage inflicted or completely stop any damage inflicted by chance, evasion is pot luck and not always 100% garenteed unlike the "def" stat in battle. If you evade dmg completely, the battle log will display "This is because Player A evaded Player B" instead of the other 2 optional attributes: Blind & Opponents DEF too high. This is interigated into the battle log so you as the attacker can see what you need to improve on to be able to beat your opponent
      • Vitality: Another defense system with a dynamic equation. This system will defend you well but as your HP depletes it cannot defend you as well as it would if you had full life. This is like an HP Armour but as your hp gets lower the armour breaks more allowing more damage to be inflicted on you. So if your gaining HP make sure you gain Vitality as these 2 work in conjunction with each other.
    • Clan Ranks - the clan owner can now assign a specific clan rank to any of its members, you can type in anything, means you can specify the members within it a further class, nothing special, just a little feature
    • Summons Remade - Summons are now 100% customizable, from level requirement to the stats they start off with when picked, they also have avatars now instead of summon sprites, this has also reduced queries by -1 in any area that involved summon data, on the forum and admin cp
    • Forum Money Control - You can now turn off money been recieved in any forum of your choice, you simple go to the forum manager page, edit a forum and the choice will appear.
    • Spell Store - you pay to learn specific spells. A spell can pretty much do anything, as each is linked to a separate PHP file:
      • Name, Description, Icon/Image
      • Linked to there own php file (easy to customize and create your own spells)
      • MP Cost (when used in battle)
      • Price (to 'learn')
      • Level Requirement
      • Class Requirement (Can be made to be used by all classes) [Your class is your job - when you leave your class now, any spells assigned with it you have learned will be automatically removed]
      • User's Spell Book Shown In Scan Member
    • Text-based adventure mode. Adventures can be designed.
    • Petz-style arena for PvP battles.
    • Battle logs & archive.
More stuff is announced every few days, but it's a pretty major overhaul of the system.

The upgrade will require resetting of all stats, so expect to start afresh with a 0 level character.

He's going to have to rewrite almost the entire code from scratch, but it'll be good if he can do so.
