[RPGA] Legacy of the Green Regent

Saw this Legacy of the Green Regent announcement on the WOTC site and noticed it linked to the RPGA site.

My question is: What the heck is it? Is it another living campaign a la Living Greyhawk? Or something different? (Implied: why should I care?)

Legacy of the Green Regent is a new "Living" campaign supported by WoTC and the RPGA.

It is a campaign based in the Silver Marches area of FR, with, I believe a two year life cycle. After the campaign finishes, they are going to start up a new one. (Note this information may be out of date.)

The campaign is designed to promote the RPGA's presence at their big conventions: Winter Fantasy, Origins, Gen Con Indy, and Gen Con SoCal. The RPGA offers "Player Rewards" Cards for playing RPGA games. The "Player Rewards" Cards give small benefits to Legacy of the Green Regent characters. Playing Legacy at the Big conventions gives you the most points towards receiving the Player Rewards cards.

All character information is going to be stored electronically by the RPGA, and you get your updated character before each game/game-day.
