RPGNow Dungeon Ad #114 Inquiries

If nothing else, the print ad made some vendors at DTRPG a bit snarky cause they had promised a lot of promotion and here came GenCon and they did little and we had a 3 page ad :)

Anyway, yes, please send me suggestions of sites, even if they are RPG releated.

Still for 3 grand spent on an ad, you'd expect more response then that. I guess I'm not surprised. But I'll go broke if I have to pay $30 per user aquired.
It's not that bad, you should break even after each new customer has spent around $150.

To be honest i don't see myself spending $150 any time soon at RPGNow, mostly because there are very few titles you carry that are attractive to me. Maybe it's time to invest in some good publishers, because if you don't carry anything i really want to buy, then no amount of advertising is going to help you.

Maybe you need to convince some print publishers to sell their print books in pdf format and get them to sell them through your store. If you have any of the Privateer Press books in pdf format i'll buy them in a sec, i would consider some of the Bastion Press books, i would buy all of the Green Ronin books (not to mention a lot of the stuff available at the DTRP store).

Actually I'm a bit disappointed in the page that the secret link (from the ad) takes you too. It's just a link of product titles. I think a 3-column list of pictures from the actual dungeon ad (in the same order as the ad) would make it easier for readers to find what they are looking for. The page is overly busy and looks nothing like the dungeon ad. Even better would be the actual pages of the dungeon ad (not too big) done up with an image map of links to the products (as well as mouse overs).

Also, the existing image is big, links away from the special offers, and has the wrong flavor compared to the magazine. Readers of Dungeon are not necessarily into scifi/cyberpunk/robots. They're into dungeons!

Have you tried "Blogads"?

http://www.blogads.com/

Granted, a lot of blogs are political, but there are some that aren't. Like say, Wesley Crusher's blog, which is $30 for a spot. He's in Dungeon or Dragon or one of the magazines.

And looking at the list, there are some goth blogs.

You might also try Fark. I think they have advertisers.

I like to think there are good publishers on RPGNow. Is this an implication that there aren't?
Phil, that's not what i tried to imply. What i tried to imply is that there are only a few good publishers on RPGnow. There's so much... 'crap' on there and that's drowning out the good stuff.

And what would you find attractive that is not at RPGNow.com?

Also, have you tried these links? Privateer Press Green Ronin Bastion Press
What i would find attractive? Monsternomicon, The Witchfire Trilogy, Torn Asunder, Airships, The Book of the Righteous, The Book of Fiends, to name a few.

Arms & Armor v3.5 By Bastion is a step in the good direction (as are a few other releases from Bastion).

I already have the whole ESD TSR catalogue (that had ocred text) from the days WotC sold them themselves.

The new Bastion Press release is available at RPGnow (before the print release is out even!)
That's the kind of stuff i mean, but this is just a single book, hardly enough i would say...
BTW, i didn't know that it was available, maybe i missed this in the press release...
I'll buy it tonight.
