RPGNow Kaput?!

With RPGNow offline for several days now, has anyone considered where the next electronic storefront will be? Is someone poised to take over the trade, or are we all waiting holding our breath for the return of RPGNow?

I'm looking into alternatives, whether or not they come back up. It's too risky putting all your eggs into one basket. (obviously! ) I need to be able to sell through at least two different sites.

I'll post here if I find anything comparatively useful. I really like rpgnow, when it's working... this is the first time I've seen them down this long, so hopefully it's a one time deal.

FYI: We received a reply from RPGNow a few minutes ago. Basically they're working on it, no estimated time of repair.

I noticed this the other day also, and like Gargoyle I'm also looking into alternatives. Fortunately Skald Books is now on her own domain at skaldbooks.com, so selling products from my own website is something I'm considering. Soon.

I hope we're not going to have to satrt calling them RPGone!

Well they are back.

For other places to sell, the favourite generally is www.SWReg.org - but they don't have a "storefront" per se to appeal to windowbrowsers and to score the suggestion sales from. It generally means significantly less exposure for a product (unless you happen to be Monte).

The whole concept of a central repository so that buyers didn't have to go to each website seperately was a major selling point for rpgnow.
