[RPGO] Blood & Circuits: So how is it?

I got it. I'm still reading the 60 pages of it. But the equipment rules look stellar. Finally some really superfly non-FX items and better computers. It's going to take me a while to digest it all though.

No question it's worth the price!

Wow, I hadn't even heard about this. Just flew under my radar. Another thing to buy! RPGO makes some of the best stuff - some of the only stuff I will buy without previewing, in fact.

Trying to be as non-biased as possible... I really like it... it's one of the main books I've been waiting for Vigilance to write.

While w're discussing d20 Future produts, has anyone looked at the couple of Ronin Arts PDFs that are out already? Ones a spaceship, and another is some cybernetics.

Ronin Arts hasn't really been one I've followed closely, but the 4th Millenium could have promise. The other two didn't interest me that much, but I'm not doing much with cyber.

I have a couple questions. First, what can you say about the Invention Points rules without giving away the farm, of course :)

Second, what are the appendices mentioned at RPGNow for Blood and Vigilance and Darwin's World?

The Invention Point system is an alternative to the standard skill DC system aimed primarily at craft skills.

It was my feeling that the current system where you roll and either succeed or fail worked well for things like Hide, but for building a 747, not so well.

So the Invention Point system means that a character with a high skill will be able to build items faster and those items will have fewer bugs crop up later on.

However, the book also has a simple, clear system allowing you to use the standard succeed or fail DC system, as well as a variation on the partial success skill DC system presented in Unearthed Arcana.

The appendices give some new rules that allow the book to work seamlessly with Blood and Vigilance and Darwin's World. The Blood and Vigilance has a system for using power points in place of invention points, allowing you to buy a perfectly functioning battlesuit, HQ, robot, vehicle, weapon etc. as a power rather than build it yourself and work out the kinks.

The Darwin's World appendix gives some sample DW weapons created with the Blood and Circuits rules as well as some conversion notes. BnC uses some different terminology, the Advanced Armor Design feat correlates to DW's Advanced Armor Discipline, and so forth.

It also has a conversion table from Wealth to Corium (the coinage of DW).
