RS2: The Tokyo Problem (Velmont Judging)

[sblock=OOC]@Velmont: Thanks for explaining that. Somehow I completely missed the fact that affect others passes control over to the target as well. Actually, somehow this fits the character better too. Thanks.

@All: Previous post edited appropriately.[/sblock]After Nimbus gives her the ability to conceal herself, Scout focuses her mind and after a few attempts she slowly fades from sight.

[sblock=Raylis]I have assumed that the briefing notes included at least one photo of the 'creatures' with Tokyo in the background. If this is not the case then let me know and I'll edit this post and try and figure something else out.[/sblock]

Once everyone else onboard the Vigilant is invisible and ready to leave, Scout moves over to Nimbus, and as she places her hand on Nimbus's shoulder she asks, "Nimbus, ... ready?". She then teleports them both to Tokyo, says "Wait here." and then teleports back. She does the same for each of the others until they are all standing in Tokyo.

[sblock=Raylis]Ok ... previous post edited.

Scout can target the others even though they are invisible since she has blindsight with the accurate power feat.
She will teleport to one of the places shown on the images that the major showed the group. She will try and pick a relatively quiet place without too much people.
If this isn't sufficient familiarization, then she'll spend a HP to temporarily gain an AP of teleport with teleport 10 and the accurate extra. If necessary then add in a few progression feats.

Scout will simply teleport (base power) herself plus a passenger to Tokyo one at a time. Her capacity should be sufficient even for Gus or Gauntlet.[/sblock]

Gauntlet is barely used to the idea of being invisible before finding himself teleported. The big man reels a bit from the sudden translocation but quickly gathers his bearings.

"Wow. Is some trip da? You do that often? How you get used to that feeling?"

Marie blinks a bit as the view suddenly changes. "Well...that was different. I think I prefer flying, personally. Speaking of which, excuse me for a second."

Marie clasps her hands together in front of her, her eyes closing in the process. She mutters something barely audible for a few seconds. A vague image of something resembling a large bird 'erupts' from her body, screeches once, and then merges back into her with a short flash of light. The resulting form ends up looking like a cross between her normal self and an F-22 Raptor fighter jet.

Marie stretches her neck from side to side. "I never get used to that. So...uh. Does anyone know where we're supposed to meet Oni-kage and the other guy?"

Gus blinks in surprise when the invisible Scout lays a hand on his arm.

"Ah," he says, vanishing from sight, "Am not used to others going unseen."

Arriving on the other side with the powerful teleporter, Gus is surprised by the sudden transition from day to night [I assume-- Japan is 13 hours ahead of EST]. He gasps as he allows himself to fully materialize, drawing strength from the night.

"Darkness. Is much better," he murmurs to no one in particular.

[sblock=OOC]Almost as a reflex, Gus switches on his Density. If the ground starts to give way beneath his 1,000 lb. mass, he Airwalks.

In other news, I haven't rolled on this site before. How do I do that?[/sblock]

After being teleported, Maddy lurches forward, and presses her fingers to her mouth. "Well," she manages, "it's better than air travel."

The Resolutes find themselves gathered on a pier in Tokyo's dock district. In the harbor there are several large ships, waiting to be loaded, unloaded or currently in the process of. Easilly visible in the darkness is the yellow lights of a construction crew trying to repair damage to a nearby pier and a group of warehouses.

The night air is crisp, but the moon is not visible among the clouds.

OOC: rolling can be done via Invisible Castle (invisiblecastle.com), if you prefer I can roll for you.

I'm going to timestamp the briefing at Noon (just for ease of reference) and departure at 1pm. Ergo, it is currently 2am in Tokyo; the vigilant will land in 13 hours (3pm Tokyo time)

[sblock=OOC]I will be travelling to and within Spain from the 31st (tomorrow) until the 9th of April. It is unfortunate timing, but that's life sometimes. It is unsure as to whether I will have internet access at all during this time.

Please feel free to NPC Scout as necessary. She will at least keep an eye on the time on her cellphone (which is synchronised with that of the pilot of the Vigilant) and when the Vigilant is due to arrive, she will teleport everyone back into the Vigilant.[/sblock]

As the others recover from the strangeness of being teleported, Scout looks around to ensure that they are alone and then her disembodied voice replies to Gauntlet and Marie.

Gauntlet said:
"Wow. Is some trip da? You do that often? How you get used to that feeling?"
"It is natural for me. It was a little strange at first, but now it is much like breathing ... I simply do it without thinking."

Mecha said:
"I never get used to that. So...uh. Does anyone know where we're supposed to meet Oni-kage and the other guy?"
"I would presume that Kensai and Oni-Kage will meet us once the Vigilant arrives."

Scout's voice pauses a moment as she gathers her thoughts, then continues
"However, perhaps we can learn something by ourselves. I would suggest that perhaps Mecha could take to the skies and survey any damage or destruction that looks to have been caused by those rampaging monsters we saw on the screens. Perhaps we will get lucky and the areas in which the damage lies can be triangulated to a single epicenter. Then perhaps Gauntlet can check out the same area from the ground, particulary the sites of the damage, the buildings and so forth. Gus I don't know whether you can look at people fears and get a better idea of what we are up against, but at least you can understand what people here are saying so you could at least get an accurate idea of what the general population feel and think about this. As for myself, Nimbus and Maddy, I am at a bit of a loss as to what we might do other than accompany the rest of you in case of trouble. If anyone has any other ideas ... ?"
