Rule Question Pearl of Power

Is a pearl of power a slotted or an unslotted item? So to be more specific, if my character wants to use 10 pearls of power, can I do this or can I not do this?

If posible I would like a reference to the rules (book/page).

A pearl of power is an unslotted item. You can have as many as you wish.

There is no reference except for the list of "slots" in the DMG. There is no "gem" slot. Treat them like IOUN stones.

You can have as many as you want, use them all, but only once per day each.

A pearl of power is an unslotted item. You may use each one you possess once per day. Those first level pearls are not bad. 500gp and 40xp each to make.
