Rules for whip use?

Is there a D&D expansion book that has expanded rules for the Whip? There has to be rules somewhere to play the "Indiana Jones" style character...

(Also, is there some way to search these forums? I hate to ask the same question again if it might already have been answered in the past.)

Do you want only WotC sources, or can we recommend stuff from EN Publishing?

Sword & Fist (WotC 3.0e) had the Lasher PrC.

Rangerwicket has some book at RPGnow about whips. Could someone pease give links of the last three whip threads in the last four weeks?

Because of the stress on the server caused by searching, the search option is only available to community supporters. I believer a CS account costs $35 a year. If you can't afford an account, or if you don't feel like supporting the community (hurray for guilt trips!), most people are more than willing to help you out if you just ask.

For some reason I can't get to the EN World storefront, or else I'd post a link for you to the Whips book. Hopefully I'll be able to do that later today.

Rules for whip use?
1. Talk with the DM to find his opinion on using the whip as an impromptu grapnel ala the Indiana Jones and other high action movies. If he does not like the idea, chose a different weapon.

2. Ask his opinion on if he feels the whip is unfairly limited on damage deal capacity and if he will allow or develop other whip like weapons.

Talk to your DM to make your whip ... harder. I mean, harder to Sunder. Then use Animate Rope and you can do all the Indiana stunts.

Also...

If I recall, there are a few Feats/Skills/Etc in Complete Scoundrel detailing use of whips in an Indiana Jones fashion. (Swinging from chandeliers, that sort of thing.) I don't own the book, but I think it was browseable from the portion they show on WotCs' page.

Thanks for all the replies.

Actually, I am the DM and a player approached me on the subject. I've been playing 3rd edition since the beginning (and 1st and 2nd before that) and I can safely say this is the first time anyone has ever shown any real interest in the whip.

I'll take a look at the suggestions. If I dig up with anything particuarly interesting, I'll post accordingly.
