Run out and buy 3.5? I think not...

The WotC catalog for Sept. - Dec. 2003 lists on page 8 the Dungeons and Dragons Core Rulebook Gift Set coming out in September. That's the one for me!!!

Think about it, I get to act like WotC doesn't control my pocket book by not buying the core books right away (like the rabid fan I want to be), I won't be tempted to buy a second set of core books just for the slipcover box, and I get even longer to finish my 3.0 campaign before buying the books (I refuse to convert mid-campaign). The price is roughly the same as buying the three books too ($89.95)!!

Heh, I'll be the coolest rpger around for blocks!!!

Uh what all does that gift pack have that you want beside the 3 books? Cause at Walmart.com and Amazon.com you can get all 3 for around $60

My dignity. While still a desperate fan boy, I won't feel so much like one by not racing out in the mad scramble to get my 3.5 books asap. Besides, I'm a brick and mortar type buyer. :D

Where's my can of whoop ass worms? ;)

I thught about getting a slipcase giftset but I realized I carry my books pretty much where ever I go so the slipcase would just sit empty on my shelf.

Since I *am* a rabid fan, I'll have to get the books when they come out, and then again when the collector's set is released.

With stuff this critical, one must have a 'play copy' and a 'backup/collection copy'. It may be unwise, but it is fulfilling.

You know, Caudor, I noticed you're from Texas... Why not show your support for your hobby by purchasing both from your Friendly Local Gaming Store -- right, Derek? ;)

Sounds great! I'll be sure to check out the yahoo group; thank you for the kind invitation. I did search around my immediate vicinity (Bedford); however, while there are some local groups, all are pretty maxed-out memberwise. If you guys have room, I would really enjoy visiting on one of your game days. Denton is not far away at all.

Of course, I'll be more than happy to support Talon Comics with my biz as well. Until today, I didn't know you guys were out there :) Thanks again.
