Runebound & Descent. Any good?

Merric covered it pretty well. It should be noted that with the expansions in place, I've noticed that Descent becomes slightly slanted in favor of the Overlord. It just means the team has to tighten up a bit and really think before they act.

We HATED Descent. The forced adversarial DM style of play and the game's play time (for the first try at least) were just irritating. In our experiance, with 3 players and 1 overlord, the overlord actually had to pull his punches a little to keep from wiping out the players early.

You seem to be missing a bit of the point of Descent... It is not an RPG, it's a board game. There are two teams, and both teams should be trying to win. The players should be trying to defeat the overlord, and the overlord should be trying to defeat the players.
