Sacred Fist/Monk movement bonus -stack?

Do the sacred fist movement bonus and the monk movement bonuses stack or overlap? I think as written they technically stack, but the example given in Complete Divine indicates that they overlap, and likely was the intention of the authors. Thoughts?

If you look at the example character in the discription of sacred fist it shows a monk 6 (+20' move)/sacred fist 4 (+10' movement) for a total of 60' as the character states. They stack.

IMO, I would say they stack most classes and prestige classes do.

It doesn't matter what the example says, the sacred fist movement bonus and the monk movement bonus are both typed as 'enhancement' bonuses to speed. Same type bonuses don't stack. (dodge, circumstance, synergy etc aside)

While technically enhancement bonuses don't stack, I would treat the Sacred Fist's bonus as increasing the enhancement bonus granted by the monk class rather than being a separate enhancement. It still wouldn't stack with the bonus from, for example, Boots of Striding and Springing, but a Monk3/Clr3/SFi4 would get an enhancement bonus to movement of 10ft from the monk class, increased by 10ft to a total enhancement bonus of +20ft by the Sacred Fist levels.

Thank you 3.5, for allowing stacking of things that shouldn't stack.

If it's labled enhancement it dosn't stack. I haven't read the 3.5 update of the sacred fist, though...

Of course if you're not required to have an enhancement bonus to movement to get into the class then that wouldn't make any sense either... you can't improve something that's not there... of course in that case I'm sure it's just treated as a normal enhancement bonus... which... stacks with other enhancement bonuses...

By the letter of the rules, it probably doesn't stack, but I've always been a firm believer in the heretical proposition that there is some room for common sense in interpreting rules ;)

The best analogy I can draw is the Natural Armour bonus for Druid Animal Companions / Wizard familiars, which get a "Natural Armour Adjustment" to their Natural Armour bonus (as distinct from just giving a Natural Armour Bonus which would not stack,) and can still add to a Natural Armour bonus of +0.

Perhaps the Sacred Fist needs a "Speed Bonus Adjustment" rather than a "Speed Bonus"?

To bad the authors did not bothered to add "This bonuses stacks with the Monk's Fast Movement ability." to the Sacred Fist ability. Do you think it was because they were too lazy, too ignorant, or because they did not wish the abilities to stack?

It is strange that they don't mention it stacking or not stacking, yet Unarmed Damage specifically does mention stacking. And yet, the intoductory paragraphs seem to indicate the class was designed for clerics and paladins to pick up some monklike abilities and still increase their caster levels.

EDIT: And I suspect it's one of those things that got messed up between the writers and editors or editors and printers. There are many such things in that book, I've heard.
