At Celebration III Lucas himself confirmed more Clone Wars and gave details on the live action series (between e3 - e4 and planned at 100+ episodes with a 2 years to start timeline).

The "Jump Good" episode would indicate that he does eventually get back and that the episodes don't have an overall order except where other reoccuring characters (the scotsman) are concerned.

Yeah, that was by design. They wanted the show to specifically emphasize individual stories, and other than bringing characters back from time to time, they didn't want an individual episode to force the viewer to have seen any other episode. Each one can stand on it's own (although the first six or seven clearly follow each other, chronologically).
