So after moving, I lost cable. Couldn't afford it.

What happened with Samurai Jack?

I've got season one on DVD and watched it frequently until about a year, year and a half ago.

3 words: Clone Wars Cartoon!

Basically they dropped SJ for working on Clone Wars. :( With the news that there will be more Star Wars toons, I doubt SJ will be coming back anytime soon.

New Star Wars toons? Details, please?

As for Jack, I remember Cartoon Network aired what they called the final 4 episodes a few months back. But I don't think the actual story ended.

AFAIK they simply stopped making eipsodes without resolving the story. No suprise there, the "wandering samurai" tale is never truly allowed to end. That's kinda the point in some respects.

Though there was one eipsode in the last season that gave a hint of Jack's fate ... or at least one possible fate.
Jack hears of a time portal on a remote island so of course he goes to find it. He faces some obstacles and then finds the portal in the middle of a sort of junkyard of armor and weapons and there is also a guardian who says anyone who wants the portal must defeat him (and of course noone ever has). Jack and the guardian fight (it was a really good fight) but in the end Jack is beaten and unconscious on the ground. The guardian is about to deliver the killing blow when he crooks his head like he is listening to someone and then says something like "oh, so that's why he seemed familiar". Then the guardian calls a bird-creature to take Jack back to the mainland and says something about meeting him again someday (Jack is still out cold). The last shot is a glimpse through the time portal of a middle-aged Jack, still strong and noble, wearing a tattered red cape and a gold crown on his head.

Later.

Thanks Joe! I was thinking this same thought last week, considered posting it here and then completely forgot about it.

It was mentioned during an interview with a Lucasfilm person. They confirmed plans for both the live action tv series and more toons but no other details. The quote was buried in an article about E3 and was in one of the last paragraphs (kinda like it was an afterthought). I read so many news sites that I don't remember which one(s) I saw the link from, just know it was posted while Clone Wars season 2 was on CN.

The final four episodes, if you can call them that, were aired months ago. As has been noted, there was no closure to the show. An earlier episode pretty much hinted at what Jack's 'future' may be, and indicated that Jack would wander for many years, helping the innocent and downtrodden. Only after he had become powerful enough to defeat the guardian of a particular time-portal, would he be strong enough to go back in time to finally defeat Aku permanently.

I would expect they do a few more Jack specials in the future (like my favorite, the Scotsman rescues Jack 1-hour episode), but never another full season.
