Sarrukh (Creator Race), a weak monster?

Are the Sarrukh in the Serpent Kingdoms books underpowered or their CR overestimated? They are a CR 21 creature, but actually seem considerably weaker than the last two encounters my party had. A green dragon dracolich and a nightwalker, both CR 16's and both seem considerably more formidable then the Sarrukh.

Rich Baker has stated on the WotC boards that the sarrukh's CR should probably be errata'd to 11. The fact that it hasn't actually been done is a clear oversight on the designers' part, but IMHO, 11 or 12 is about the correct rating.

Its not just a problem that they are weak, its that they should be strong. They are a freakin' creator race. But what do the creator race of the Yuan-Ti have that regular ones dont? Well, they create new Yuan-Ti.

Sarruk got nothing on some other lizard/snake races I know of. The Creator race in the Dragon article at least WAS damn better than these folks.

If you are a member of a serpent race and if you can get over the compulsion to fawn all over them they'll turn you into a newt on a whim.

Ironically, that race was CR 11, IIRC. :p
