It’s 4 July, 1944; D-Day plus 28. The U.S. 29th Division is slowly slogging their way through the Norman Bocage (or Hedgerows) near the French town of St. Lo. The earthen mounds or walls 8 to 10 feet in width and 4 to 6 feet in height, covered with scrub undergrowth make for formidable defense positions, which the German forces have used causing many U.S. casualties.

By 5 July, lead elements of the division sent back reports to headquarter about “strange” and “unusual” occurrences. When asked for specific details, none could be provided; a fact which infuriated the division’s commander, General Charles Gerhardt. He was about to issue orders to C Company of the 115th Regiment to further investigate the occurrences, when orders came down suspending any investigation; a special Army Intelligence unit was to be sent in instead.

In the horror of war, dark things rise, and World War II is history's greatest conflict. The Japanese stalk the jungles of Southeast Asia. Carriers battle in the South Pacific. Tanks trundle across North Africa. Planes duel over England. The Nazi blitzkrieg conquers most of Europe with a genocidal madman at the controls. Prepare to battle the evil of the Axis powers and the hideous things that rise in their wake. This isn't just war this is Weird War!
