D&D 3E/3.5 Savage Species Templates in D&D 3.5

I doubt most of them would. Well, the DR would obviously changed, but the stuff that was broken in 3.0, if converted, would still be broken. I recommend you convert yourself and then houserule liberally.

Yeah, sadly, a *lot* of the stuff in SS was completely broken by 3.5, even though SS was 'supposedly' 3.5 ready.

So many of the monsters were changed, especially the outsiders, that it's almost pointless to use the book for most things except feats.

Even the Planar Handbook didn't correct most of the stuff that changed.

I tried asking when there'd be an 'update' in the form of Eratta or a Web Enhancement, but nothing was ever said on the Wizards website.

Ok.. Do you have anything more constructive to say than that?
Jeez, what are you looking for? Technically, they shouldn't be affected at all except for DRs. Change the DR according to the last page of the pdf found here:
http://wizards.com/dnd/files/DnD35_Core_Books.zip
Basically, things CR 4 or 5 have DR 5/(something), CR 13+ has 15/(something) and those in between have 10/(something). The (something) will usually be magic if it was previously +n. If you have the MM, though, use those DR's.

If you have a specific question about a particular template, compare the 3.0 and 3.5 creatures to adjust the template. It'd be hard to find a list of the changes to every template, though. Definitely nothing by WotC.

But "updating" anything won't fix how broken the templates are.

The best way to go about it is to tweak them yourself so that you can make the templates less broken. Only you know the balance of your game and the range of power.

I know about that file. Nevermind. I'll figure something out.
How about mentioning a couple of the templates you specifically have in mind and people can comment on them? Savage Species had a number of templates which had balance problems as written, whether in 3e or 3.5e.

Anthropomorphic Animal
Feral Creature
Incarnate Construct
Insectile Creature
Multiheaded Creature
Reptillian Creature
Tauric Creature
Winged Creature

Those are the templates from Savage Species that I am most interested in seeing 3.5 rules for.
