LOL. OK, good for you, my man.

Was there more to the story? Sounds like your DM ran him perfectly if he got you worked up enough just to tell everyone you laid him out. Care to elaborate on the events that led up to the altercation?
Well, since you asked....
First, a little background about Duncan Stark. (My PC) He's a hero, and he'll tell you all about it. (You know, I once killed a manticore all by myself...) Nothing is a greater fear to him than to be forgotten. He's pretty chaotic in nature, but will usually try to help when he can. (Think one part Jack Sparrow, one part Malcom Reynolds.)
When Avner first came aboard the Sea Wyvern, he was mistreating his servants and began to order me around, thinking I was part of the "lowly" crew. He has been a pretty constant thorn in my side. For many days the two had arguments of various natures, and the paladin of our group did his best to keep the two of us apart. Avner has been flirting with just about every female on board and has become to try to come between me and Captain Amella, who is swooning for Duncan because, let's face it, he's a hero.

After the mephit attack, Avner was very demanding about, well, everything. I was nearing the edge of my nerves. He continued to mistreat his servants and blah, blah, blah about how important he was. More days go by.
One night at sea, while I was up on deck with Amella, she left to go get us some brandy. While she was gone, a spell effect came over me, and I could not move. (Hello, Hold Person) A masked individual resembling one of Avner's servants (I'm not totally convinced it was actually him.) came up and pushed me overboard where some huge sharks were circling about the ship. When I snapped out of it, sharks were closing in and I began to swim back to the boat. I began to scale the side of the ship towards the captain's window as the sharks bit at me, dropping me unconscious. Hearing the raucus, the captain was able to reach out of the window and catch me before I would fall to my death. She pulled me in to safety. Meanwhile, other people were falling overboard and lots of chaos ensued.
Later, after things had calmed down and, miraculously, nobody was killed, I received some healing from the priest on board. (His name escapes me at the moment.) I hunted down Avner's servant to see if he had an "OH CRAP!" look on his face at seeing me alive. (I have a pretty good Sense Motive score.) Not being too panicky, I currently do not hold him as a prime suspect and think something greater is at hand, but that'll have to wait until next week.
We gathered all of the ships passengers on the top deck and began to search everything for any sort of clue. I stayed on the deck trying to eyeball everyone. It was at this point that Avner said something to the effect of "You like like hell. Why don't you get that fat priest to take care of you."
I believe my exact words were, "I've heard enough from you," and clocked him. He dropped like a bag of sand and I said, "Maybe that fat priest will come help you."
And that's where we left off...I can't wait for next week!
Personally, I can't believe I didn't do it sooner.
